Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM), is a National program for educating and popularizing science among school students of VI to XI standards. VVM aims to identify and nurture the bright minds among the student community, who are keen on subjects related to science.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan is a unique app based online examination for school students to be conducted at national level.
Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiation of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Education Research and Training, an institution under the Ministry of Education.
All the schools/students under CBSE, ICSE and State Boards can enroll from classes VI to XI for participation in this national examination.
Mode of the examination will be online. Online school level examination will be conducted nationwide, on 29th November, 2020 and/or on 30th November, 2020from 10:00a.m. to08:00p.m. The examination will be conducted for the Junior Group (class VI to VIII) and for the Senior Group (class IX to XI).

Junior and Senior (Class VI to XI)


Answers of Section-B will be evaluated only if a student secures equal to or more than 50% (i.e., equal to or more than 20 Marks) in Section-A. The final merit list to identify participants for State Level Camp would be prepared on the basis of total marks scored in both segments namely Section-A & Section-B. In case, if there is tie in rankings, marks obtained in Section-A will be the deciding one.

The school authority needs to appoint an exam coordinator and he/she can complete the school registration process byclicking on the “Register as School” linkafter clicking on the “Click Here to Register” menu available at the top right portion of the Home page of VVM site and entering the following details:
    1.  Enter the details of the school like school name, school address, name of principal, name of exam coordinator, mobile number, email ID etc.
    2.   This information will be shown as school profile on VVM portal.
The entered data will be verified by VVM admin through sending one-time password (OTP) and an Email verification link on registered mobile and Email respectively.
    3.   There will be two options with the exam coordinator to register the students:
      • Online – One by one online entry of the student details.
      • Offline – The coordinator enters minimal details like Name of student, Class, Gender, Email ID, Phone No. etc. in the prescribed excel format provided for this purpose. It will be an offline process, because, editable excel file (no changes in the format of file will be acceptable) is provided for data entry.
      • Individual student category - School Exam Coordinator can also ask students to register in individual student category. As you have registered the school - login in school account and check the unique code/referral code and note down it. Share referral code with students and ask them to login in their account and edit their profile to enter this unique code/referral code and click on submit button. As soon they will they enter the code they will be automatically added in school profile / student list (referred students).
The examination will be conducted in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Malayalam and Assamese (major regional languages). English will be the default language. Those who wish to see the examination in both Regional language as well as in English (switchable) must choose their Regional Language while language selection for examination.
Yes. Exam Coordinator can add students in the list later also.
Exam Coordinator can login to his account and then can edit the details in profile page.
Yes. Exam Coordinator can alter students list only but it will be possible only before last date of registration.
We are open for individual registration. The student will enter details like Name, DoB, Create Password, Class, School Name, Address, District, State etc. and then the entered data will be verified by VVM admin by sending OTP's on registered Mobile Number and Email Id respectively (Please check spam email also). Both the OTP's will be different and required to be entered for completion of verification process. Now students will be provided with an option to make the online payment after logging into the website. They can select from options of payment according to their ease using the payment gateway. After completion of registration process the student will be provided with a unique username (on registered email id) and password (encrypted format).
Application fee for participation is Rs. 100/- per student.
For schools- after completing the registration process payment option will be there to pay through online Paytm, PhonePay, BHIM, Google Pay, Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, RTGS/NEFT etc.

Schools can register students one by one online or can download editable excel format (available on portal for offline data entry) to upload. This information will be shown as student profile on VVM portal.

In case of offline completion of the entries the data can be uploaded online. Exam coordinator is authorized for modification of student’s information (if required).
Once the registration process is complete the students are requested to download study material and start preparation. Exam App will be made available for download from the profile page of the student on 01 November, 2020 for Mock Tests.
The profile page will contain detailed instructions for App download and installation. Request support link will be available in case of any issues along with help line number.
Yes. It is an Application Based Examination.
It is a form of assessment in which the Application will be an integral part of question paper delivery, response storage, marking of response or reporting of results.
It offers greater accuracy, efficiency, transparency, reliability, flexibility, scalability, efficient administration, minimum effort, instant results, time saving, cost saving etc. when compared with traditional paper-based examination.
Yes. As this year it is an open book examination, participants will be able to appear in exam from their home.
The candidate need to know only how to use Application. That is the most required for which we will be providing the Mock-Tests similar to the real test environment for making the students aware of the Application.
Yes. The Mock Tests will be available on VVM Application installed on your device. The Candidate can use the same and practice at the given time and schedule. This will give look and feel of the format of Application Based Examination in simulation environment.
Participants are requested to write Mock Exams from the device they will be using at the time of Final Exam. In case, if any issue is there in their device while operating the VVM App they can report the same on admin@vvm.org.in. Students are requested to write examination with their Mobile/Laptop/Tabletfully charged and with good internet connectivity. No second chance in case of detection of malpractices (maximum 3 three times) i.e. playing with Power Buttons, Sound Buttons, Attempting to Minimize the App, Turning Off Airplane Mode and Connecting to WiFi during the Exam will be provided to any candidate. App will submit the answers marked till last attempt.
As given above at point no. 7 there will be two sections in the exam. Each section have been assigned with the certain set of the question and time limit. Participants will have to complete those sections in stipulated time. No one would be able to revisit Section-A once it is submitted or over. There will four options of each question. The candidate has to click one of the options using touch selection which can be reviewed or re-answered any time during the duration of that particular section of the examination.
There will be a Grid on the panel ofVVM App screen showing all the question no’s in different color scheme which will indicate which are the questions answered, left un-answered and not visited.
Yes. But, only Section wise, as it is one of the most important feature of Application Based Online Examination.
The candidate’s result will be displayed on his/her Mobile/Laptop/Tablet screen on 15th December, 2020.
Yes. There is a call support for candidates appearing in application based online examination. The helpline numbers are available on the VVM App in Contact Us menu option.
To build the confidence of the students and to make exam user friendly, sample mock test will be made available regularly. The registered students will get regular notifications regarding the activities. The student profile will be displayed in the top section of the App. The profile will contain student details with photo for identification.
On completion of the mock test, the student can view the results of mock test in his profile page. After verification of the answers, student can report to our admin support if he/she faces any problems.
25th November,2020 onwards, the student will receive an SMS and Email notification to download/update the VVM App.This download must be done during 26-28 November, 2020. Once downloaded, the student should login and verify the version mentioned in the message, to make sure that the latest version of the App is downloaded and is running on the device.
The student will not be able to appear for the exam without the latest updated App installed in the registered device.
The exam can be taken from any Smart Phone/Tablet having mobile internet connectivity or from a Laptop/Desktop with Internet access. The mobile can be from any manufacturer with Android or Windows OS (except iOS). In the case of Laptops, it can be Windows or Linux variants.
Internet connectivity on the mobile device should be 3G and above is required. For laptops, a Wi-Fi connection is expected with minimum speed of 3G and above.
From 1st download of APP to Final exam about 500 Mb Internet DATA will be used by any user. On the day of final exam about 10 MB internet DATA will be used by any student.
No advantage to Laptop/Tablet user over mobile user. Display will be same as mobile display on every device. So no question of advantage of display size to Laptop/Tablet users.
No advantage as such as App is designed with care to address this issue. Minimum graphics is used in App development so faster and slower mobiles will perform in same speed. At the same time one should keep mobile clean and heavy applications to be blocked during final exam.
Don’t worry. We have taken care of such events. Comply with the instructions given and Calls/notifications/popups will be blocked by the app. You can try this during mock exam.
